Laia Miret (Terrassa, Espanha, 1987) é mestre em arte pelo Royal College de Londres. Seu trabalho está situado na interseção de tecnologia, design e filosofia. Em sua produção recente, analisa e altera os ecossistemas digitais para criar narrativas estéticas e críticas que ocorrem entre a realidade e a ficção. Prática e pesquisa se entrelaçam e se complementam tanto em suas atividades profissionais em comunicação, quanto em seu trabalho artístico. Em ambos os cenários pretende participar na criação de alternativas ao problemático paradigma digital que habitamos. Depois de anos questionando as culturas visuais atuais e seu impacto social, Laia desenvolve uma prática artística interdisciplinar para tentar entender a política da imagem digital contemporânea.

Laia Miret (b. 1987, Terrassa, Spain) holds an MRes in Art from The Royal College of Art of London. Her work is situated at the intersection of technology, design and philosophy. In her recent production she analyses an alters present digital ecosystems to set aesthetic and critical narratives that occur between reality and fiction. Practice and research are intertwined and complementary to each other either in her professional activities in the media and in her artistic work. In both scenarios she aims to participate in the creation of alternatives to the problematic digital paradigm we inhabit. After years of questioning current visual cultures and their social impact, Laia is developing an interdisciplinary artistic practice to try to understand the politics of the contemporary digital image.
