A biblioteca do Mirante Xique-Xique é um projeto que tem por objetivo criar uma biblioteca popular em Igatu. Com espaço físico e oferecendo Wi-Fi livre em suas imediações.
Por enquanto funcionamos como uma biblioteca circulante. E é muito fácil e desburocratizado participar. Basta verificar os títulos disponíveis na pasta verde abaixo, solicitar a reserva através do nosso email e agendar a coleta aqui no Mirante.
Somos uma biblioteca especializada, com acervo significativo em Artes, Antropologia, Ecologia, Conhecimento Tradicional, Arquitetura Vernacular, Arquitetura Indígena, Nordeste, Sertão, Filosofia, Mineração, Meditação, Culinária, História, Literatura Brasileira e Literatura Estrangeira. Não somos uma biblioteca infanto-juvenil.
Neste momento, a biblioteca MXX vem solicitando doações de livros a editoras particulares e públicas para consolidar um acervo significativo em seus núcleos de interesse. Através do valoroso apoio das Editoras Dantes, Elefante, Todavia e A Bolha, além das doações de artistas e escritores, como também dos residentes que passam pelo Mirante, estamos expandindo nossa coleção. Toda semana cerca de uma dezena de novos títulos passam a integrar o nosso acervo. Como não dispomos de funcionários ou voluntários, é possível que você, doador, não encontre o livro gentilmente enviado na lista dos novos títulos. Mas em breve ele estará lá.
A biblioteca conta ainda com o acervo de aproximadamente 2 mil títulos dos artistas RodriguezRemor, ainda sem catalogação. Estamos buscando parcerias para poder disponibilizá-lo em breve.
Apesar do que você pode ouvir sobre a morte de livros impressos e a falta de interesse em bibliotecas, mais do que meros espaços de armazenamento de livros, queremos ser um centro de encontro comunitário que servirá como um novo ambiente de trocas e um lugar de aprendizagem e aprimoramento profissional, mas também de diálogo e entretenimento, sem nunca deixar de ser um espaço de resistência e de desenvolvimento crítico.

The Mirante Xique-Xique library is a project that aims to create a community library in Igatu. A physical location offering free Wi-Fi in the surrounding area.
For the moment, we are a lending library. And it’s very simple and hassle-free to participate. All you need to do is check the available titles in the green folder below, request a reservation by sending us an email, and schedule a time to pick up your book here at Mirante Xique-Xique.
We are a specialized library, with a significant collection of books on Arts, Anthropology, Ecology, Traditional Knowledge, Vernacular Architecture, Indigenous Architecture, the Northeast Region of Brazil, the Sertão, Philosophy, Mining, Medication, Cuisine, History, Philosophy, Brazilian Literature, and World Literature. We are not a children’s library.
The MXX library is currently requesting donations of books from public and private publishing houses to consolidate our significant collection in our areas of interest. With the valuable support of Dantes, Elefante, Todavia and A Bolha, in addition to donations from artists, writers, and residents who have stayed at MXX, we are expanding our collection. Every week, approximately a dozen new titles are added to our collection. As we do not have employees or volunteers, it is possible that, if you have made a donation, you will not see the books that you have generously sent us in our list of new titles yet. But they will be included shortly.
The library also has a collection of approximately 2,000 titles by RodriguezRemor, not yet cataloged. We are looking for partnerships to make it available soon.
In spite of what you may have heard about the death of printed books and the lack of interest in libraries, beyond being merely a space to store books, we wish to be a community meeting point that will foster a new environment for sharing and a space for learning and professional enhancement, as well as dialogue and entertainment, without ever forgetting that we are also a space for resistance and critical development.
