Anelena Toku vive em São Paulo e realiza uma pesquisa que circula entre as práticas visuais, sonoras e olfativas. Procura criar uma presença atenta que desperte sensações a partir da colaboração entre o que é humano e tudo o que alimenta este ser.
Participou e organizou exposições coletivas em São Paulo, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte e Portland (EUA). Realizou publicações e exposições com o coletivo de fotografia analógica Companhia Rapadura e intervenções têxteis com o Coletivo feito a mão.
Junto com Gabriela Santana desenvolve uma pesquisa em perfumaria e incensaria natural com a PIPANAN.
Integra o duo FRONTE VIOLETA junto com a musicista e artista sonora Carla Boregas. Desde 2015, desenvolvem uma investigação experimental do som em relação aos outros sentidos e linguagens, permeada por um contínuo interesse em restaurar e despertar a sensibilidade a partir de um diálogo com o mundo natural.
Fez parte das residências artísticas SOMSOCOSMOS na Fazenda São João (2017), Resiliência na Silo Arte e Latitude Rural (2019) e Amplify / British Council (2022).

Anelena Toku lives in São Paulo and conducts research that circulates between visual, sound, and olfactory practices. She seeks to create an attentive presence that awakens sensations based on the collaboration between what is human and everything that feeds this being.
She has participated and organized group exhibitions in São Paulo, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, and Portland. She has published and exhibited with the analog photography collective Companhia Rapadura and textile interventions with the collective Feito a Mão.
Together with Gabriela Santana, she develops research on perfumery and natural incense with PIPANAN.
She is part of the duo FRONTE VIOLETA, together with musician and sound artist Carla Boregas. Since 2015, they have been developing an experimental investigation of sound in relation to other senses and languages, permeated by a continuous interest in restoring and awakening sensitivity through dialogue with the natural world.
She has participated in the artist residencies SOMSOCOSMOS at Fazenda São João (2017), Resiliência at Silo Arte e Latitude Rural (2019), and Amplify/British Council (2022).
