Verônica Spnela é graduada em Artes Visuais (ECA-USP; 2016) e mestra em Museologia (MAE-USP; 2018). Seu trabalho é inspirado pelos mecanismos, ciclos, formas e texturas da natureza, os quais são vistos como a via de expressão da magia que rege as coisas vivas. Utiliza materiais de origem orgânica – pergaminho, cera, fios, terras, papéis – buscando alcançar com esses suportes o encantamento e a nobreza apropriados àquilo que visa expressar. Trabalha especialmente em técnica de desenho com linha e ponto, sempre muito finos e delicados, para falar do singular que compõe o todo. O ato de imaginar criaturas acontece como um brincar no infinito da evolução natural – onde há um adaptar-se à adversidade – , da manipulação genética – lugar de um sem fim de edições possíveis – e dos mundos inexplorados. Dançar entre a potência da criação e a ignorância das limitações humanas.

Verônica Spnela holds a degree in Visual Arts (University of São Paulo School of Communication and Arts, 2016) and a Master’s in Museology (University of São Paulo Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, 2018). Her work is inspired by the mechanisms, cycles, forms, and textures of nature, which are seen as a way to express the magic that governs living things. She uses organic materials, such as parchment, wax, threads, earth, and paper, seeking, with the support of these materials, to achieve the enchantment and nobility that are appropriate to what she aims to express. She works especially with the technique of drawing with lines and dots, always very thin and delicate, to speak about the singular that composes the whole. The act of imagining creatures takes place as a form of play in the infinity of natural evolution, where there is an adaptation to adversity, of genetic manipulation, a place with an endless number of possible editions and of unexplored worlds. Dancing between the power of creation and the ignorance of human limitations.
