Saulo Dubourcq is a visual artist based in Recife. He holds a degree in Architecture from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). His research explores natural landscapes and the traces left on them by time and human intervention, through a free approach to observational drawing. His practice encompasses rock paintings and the chromatic range of earth pigments applied to clay surfaces. He has worked with ceramics since 2017, when he worked in the studio of visual artist Christina Machado. He has been a member of study groups led by Nancy Betts and Márcio Harum, Charles Watson, Bruno Miguel, and Franz Manata. He has exhibited at the Museu do Homem do Nordeste (Fundação Joaquim Nabuco); Instituto de Arte Contemporânea da UFPE (IAC Benfica); Galeria 1 at Mercado Eufrásio Barbosa, Olinda; Galeria Tato at Biblioteca Mario de Andrade, São Paulo; Ateliê Casa Um, São Paulo; and Casa de Pedra, Rio de Janeiro. At UFPE, he collaborated on the extension project “Art and Technology: An Experience in Expanded Printmaking” and the Research and Extension Project in Lithography.
