Rodrigo investigates discursive aspects of visual language, exploring issues related to identity and social perceptions of the body, beyond the links between individual memory and collective narrative. He has developed these studies on two fronts, one of political nature and another linked to the conformations of the masculine. On both fronts, he seeks forms of representation through image, transiting mainly between photography, painting, and drawing. Since 2014, he has been part of Ateliê Fidalga, coordinated by the artists Albano Afonso and Sandra Cinto. He was selected for the 2020 Project Season of Paço das Artes. He has held solo exhibitions at the University of São Paulo Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC USP) from 2019 to 2020, the Ribeirão Preto Museum of Art in 2018, the Adelina Institute in 2017, and the exhibition room at Projeto Fidalga in São Paulo in 2016. He has participated in the collective exhibitions Projeto “LIMITE” – Exposição “Do que se guarda” at the Ribeirão Preto Museum of Art in 2019, “[DIS]Trópicos” at the National Arts Foundation (Funarte) in São Paulo, and “Retrotopias” at the independent space in the Magdalena Laura building in São Paulo in 2018, and others. He was awarded at the 51st Salão de Arte Contemporânea de Piracicaba (SAC) in 2019, at the 42nd Salão de Arte de Ribeirão Preto (SARP) in 2017, and at the 44th Salão de Arte Contemporânea Luiz Sacilotto in 2016. He was nominated for the Prêmio PIPA in 2018 and the 8th edition of the Prêmio Diário Contemporâneo de Fotografia no Pará (2017). He was a resident at Terra Afefé (2023), Kaaysá Art Residency (2023), Casa da Escada Colorida (2022), Instituto Adelina (2017), and Projeto Fidalga (2016).
