Lucas Cardoso (Maceió, Brazil, 1994) is a visual artist. His works are informed by the places he came from, and they are about encounters with family stories, the city where he was born, his dreams, visions, and experiences with spirituality, which take place in the form of images, whether painted or not. Recently, his work, under construction, includes research on natural materials in the incorporation of painting processes, with the manipulation and utilization of mineral pigments (earth) and vegetables (mostly coal), evoking a greater interlacing between nature and nature’s elements, ancestry, and art.
